Limit Their Space

You need to limit your brand new puppy's space in your house. This helps you in more than one way. One reason to do it is that your new puppy will get used to your household and vice versa. Another reason is that limiting where your dog can be also limits the places that they can pee. Putting them in a room with tile or bare floor will make it easier to clean up any mess. 

Crate Train

You may also want to consider crate training your dog. Dogs don't tend to use the bathroom in the same places that they sleep. Putting your puppy in a crate before you have to leave or at night can help them learn to pee outside. It can also keep your puppy feeling more secure when you aren't home because they have a den they can hide in.
